Optimize

Tailwind: yield optimization

When a merchant will pay more for a click, Tailwind routes it there. Same product, no change for the reader, more revenue for every visit.

The same click can be worth more

A product link pays whatever its default program pays, even when another merchant would pay more for the same reader on the same product. Most commerce pages leave that difference on the table, along with the advertiser budgets that would like to reach readers in trusted editorial.

What Tailwind does

  • Link swapping against advertiser demand

Tailwind matches each commerce click against cost-per-click demand in real time and routes it to the merchant that pays the most for that product.

  • Your rules

You set the rules and exclusions, and Tailwind works inside them.

  • Sponsored product grid

A product grid that brings advertiser-funded placements into your commerce pages. Every placement is labeled "Sponsored".

  • On-page testing

Test layouts, buy buttons and product placement on live pages, with results reported in Beacon.

  • Brand-funded audience extension

Brands can co-fund audience extension into the pages that feature them.

On-page testing

Test what earns more, on your live pages

Try different layouts, buy buttons and product placements, and see the results in Beacon alongside the rest of your commerce revenue.

How it works

  1. Set your rules

Decide where Tailwind can work and what it should never touch.

  2. Match clicks to demand

As readers click, Tailwind checks advertiser demand for the same product and routes each click to the best-paying merchant.

  3. See the difference

Results show up in Beacon next to the rest of your commerce revenue.

Tailwind FAQ

Does Tailwind change what readers see?

Link swapping doesn't: readers see the same product, and the click goes to the merchant that pays the most for it.

Sponsored placements, such as the sponsored product grid, are always labeled "Sponsored".

Who decides where Tailwind can work?

You do. You set the rules and exclusions, and Tailwind works inside them.

Do we need Beacon to use Tailwind?

No. Tailwind works on its own. If you also use Beacon, Tailwind's results appear there next to the rest of your commerce revenue.
